Thanks for your post Brooke! I love your personal reflection on pedagogy and how it allows the term to be conceptualized as not a static but yet multi-faceted term on learning and teaching. You mentioned in this reflection, how you learn best writing, this is a great point to the the complexities of pedagogy. As a teacher it is important to understand that each individual learns differently, just as you have pointed out that writing is your method.
You went into more depth by bringing into connection this learning theory of connectivism. One of the things I love about this theory is how it allows for so much flexibility in learning. As you mentioned, it’s not about the instructor guiding you through every step, but more about creating a space where you can explore and make connections yourself. I think that’s so important, especially now that technology lets us learn from so many different sources. The open nature of connectivism means we can pull from various resources, connect with others, and learn at our own pace, which is key to personal growth and keeping up with how fast everything is changing.
